Pain Treatment

Chronic pain most commonly affects the back, neck, head, and joints. Pain is usually a symptom of other conditions but can sometimes manifest as a disease in itself.

Pain caused by injuries, excessive fatigue, or physical weakness often resolves well on its own in children and young adults under 30. However, after the age of 30, the body's cell metabolism slows down, making it difficult to recover from injuries without assistance. Simply taking painkillers cannot cure the problem. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques like acupuncture and herbal medicine can aid the body's recovery.

Timing is crucial in preventing acute pain from becoming chronic. If patients seek TCM treatment as soon as pain occurs, over 90% can be cured with just one session, preventing prolonged pain that might eventually require surgery or joint replacement.

We also have significant experience in treating long-term chronic pain. Through acupuncture and herbal medicine, we can clinically cure or significantly reduce patients' pain, improving their quality of life.

For patients unable to visit the clinic for acupuncture, I offer online video consultations and can mail herbal medicines.

I can treat the following types of pain:

  • Headache, migraine, trigeminal neuralgia

  • Arthritis, rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis

  • Neck pain, periarthritis of the shoulder

  • Back and leg pain, acute lumbar sprain, heel pain

  • Erythromelalgia, complex regional pain syndrome

  • Cholecystitis, gallstones, kidney stones, urinary stones, appendicitis

  • Cancer pain

                               Typical Cases of Pain Treatment:

Lumbar Disc Herniation:

  • Female, 49 years old: Experienced radiating pain in the lower back and right leg for 3 months, diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation by CT scan. Bed rest for 3 months did not relieve symptoms. Unable to walk, she arrived in a wheelchair. After one hour of acupuncture, her pain was significantly reduced, and she was able to walk out of the clinic.

Periarthritis of the Shoulder:

  • Male, 37 years old: Had left shoulder pain for two days, with limited shoulder movement. He could not lift his arm above 130° forward or 30° backward and could not carry objects with his left hand. After one treatment, his pain almost disappeared, and shoulder mobility was restored. He continued applying medication externally for three days, and was fully cured after three days.

Knee Arthritis:

  • Female, 42 years old: Had right knee swelling and pain for over a month, making walking impossible. After one acupuncture session and a week of herbal medicine, she was cured and could run. Follow-up over ten years showed no recurrence.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

  • Female, 45 years old: Had carpal tunnel syndrome for over two months, preventing her from driving. Her GP recommended surgery. After a week of herbal treatment, she was cured. Follow-up over eight years showed no recurrence.

Facial Nerve Inflammation:

  1. Female, 23 years old: Had viral facial nerve inflammation for two weeks, losing function on the left side of her face. Improvement was noted after the first acupuncture session. After nine sessions, she was fully cured. (Please see attached photo)

  2. Male, 21 years old: Had right-side facial palsy for ten days. After ten acupuncture sessions, he was fully cured.

Trigeminal Neuralgia:

  1. Female, 42 years old: Had right-sided trigeminal neuralgia for five years, experiencing intermittent, electric shock-like, and radiating pain, preventing eating and speaking. Pain reduced after two sessions, and attack frequency decreased after five sessions. After ten sessions, she was clinically cured.

  2. Male, 62 years old: Had right lower lip pain for three years, experiencing pain when speaking and washing his face. After the first acupuncture session, pain significantly reduced. After three sessions, the pain disappeared.

Migraine:

  1. Male, 56 years old: Suffered from left-sided headache for 10 years, with fluctuating intensity. Recently, the headache worsened due to fatigue, causing left eye pain, affecting sleep, and accompanied by tinnitus and dizziness. After one acupuncture treatment, the migraine did not recur. After three treatments, he was cured.

  2. Female, 51 years old: Suffered from left-sided migraine for six months, with frequent severe pain. During severe episodes, she was unable to eat or sleep. After one acupuncture treatment, the pain disappeared and did not recur.

Heel Pain:

  • Male, 45 years old: Suffered from pain and numbness in both heels for more than two years, able to walk only about 100 meters. After five acupuncture treatments, the pain was significantly reduced. After fifteen treatments, the pain and numbness in both heels disappeared, and he was able to walk normally.
